Google Acquires Instant Messaging Firm Meebo And Mobile Productivity Apps Manufacturer Quickoffice

There was a follow up on Google's purchase plans from the previous month of May. And just as the reports, Google has acquired two new firms.

The first one to get into Google's property list was Meebo, the instant messaging firm. Within the space of 24 hours, Google acquired another company Quickoffice which is a firm basically involved in making mobile productivity apps both for iOS and Android. You may have used Meebo before. It offers instant messaging service for wide range of email accounts. Meebo lets everyone, Yahoo, MSN, and even facebook connections to chat with their buddies of the the contact list.

Google has certainly made some clear intentions with these purchases and it's how Google discloses:

With the Meebo team's expertise in social publisher tools, we believe they will be a great fit with the Google+ team. We look forward to closing the transaction and working with the Meebo team to create more ways for users to engage online.

Similarly, for Quickoffice, Google is likely to be expecting some effective moves in their Google Docs and Google Drive.

Well, this is how Google's owners and analysts think. And no financial terms of those purchases have been released yet.
